My worst time is in the evening. Once the kids are in bed, the plates and pots have been cleared away after dinner, and I find myself with idle hands.
So many times I have found myself in the kitchen for no apparent reason, and once I am there I find myself nibbling on a little something or other.
It's a really bad habit.
And it's because I am bored!
So I am finding things to amuse myself. There is a big part of me that says "This is the ideal time to get the Wii Fit out and do some exercise, kill two birds with one stone by avoiding boredom AND earning Active Points at the same time!" and yes, that is a cracking idea. But it's one that I wont follow through with... Mainly because; bored I may be, but brimming with energy I am not. I have tried to do the whole "Wii Fit once the kids are in bed" thing before and you know what? I didn't do it. I procrastinated and dodged... and wound up in the kitchen eating! And now I have the baby too so I am shattered by the evening.
Instead I am finding relaxing things to do that keep my mind exercised instead of my body. Aside from writing this blog I am also crafting and making again. I need to do stuff that doesn't involve food all the time. Something I can concentrate on, and that takes at least an hour or two to do because that takes me from finishing up after the kids bedtime through to my own bedtime!
What do you do to take your mind off dieting and food?
Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.
You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook
